SWEATSHAPE
Group fitness vs. small group training in Clifton Park.
Which kind of coaching is right for you?
Not everyone needs the same training environment. Some people thrive on the energy of a larger group. Others want more coaching attention, more structure and a smaller setting. At Fitness Artist, those two needs are served through SWEAT and SHAPE.Neither is “better.”The right choice depends on how you want to be coached.
First: this isn't really about class size.
The biggest difference between SWEAT and SHAPE isn't simply how many people are in the room.
It's the level of coaching attention, structure and feedback built into the experience. Both are coached. Both are designed with purpose. Both give you people to train around. The difference is how closely the coaching can be adapted to you during the session.

Coached group training.
SWEAT is our group training experience. It gives you the energy, momentum and community that comes from training with a larger group, without turning into follow-the-leader fitness. You are not just watching an instructor and trying to keep up.
- Our coaches circulate.
- They teach.
- They correct.
- They modify.
- They challenge.
- They pay attention.
The group may be moving together, but that does not mean every person should use the same weight, movement or progression.

SWEAT may be right for you if:
You enjoy the energy of a group
Community helps you stay consistent
You want structured strength and conditioning
You like being coached but don't need a highly individualized session
You want an efficient, motivating training environment
You want to show up knowing the workout is already planned
What SWEAT feels like
Music.Movement.People working hard.Coaches actively involved in the room. And a community where people learn your name, notice your effort and care whether you come back.
Community without getting lost in the crowd.

Small-group coaching.

SHAPE is designed for people who want more coaching attention than a larger group typically allows.Sessions are smaller, which gives the coach more opportunity to observe movement, adjust exercises, modify loading and track progress more closely.Everyone is still training together. But the coaching decisions can be more individual.
One person may use a different exercise variation.
Another may need a different load.
Someone else may need a different range of motion or progression.
The session is shared. The coaching is adapted.
SHAPE may be right for you if:
You want more individual attention
You have specific strength or fitness goals
You want your progress measured over time
You have limitations, past injuries or movement considerations
You like training with others but want a smaller environment
You want more coaching without necessarily needing traditional one-on-one personal training
What SHAPE feels like
More conversation.More observation.More adjustments.More opportunity for the coach to understand how you move, what you need and how you're progressing. You still get the accountability and energy of training around other people. You just get more coaching along the way.
Coached together. Adapted for you. Progress measured.
Progress tracking in SHAPE includes complimentary InBody scans so changes can be measured rather than guessed.

The goal is not to force you into a program. It is to help you find the environment where you are most likely to succeed.

What if I don't know which one I need?
Good. You don't have to.That is part of our job.You may think you need a smaller setting when the accountability and energy of SWEAT would actually help you more. You may walk in thinking you want group fitness, but after talking through your goals, history or limitations, SHAPE may make more sense.
The starting point should fit the person. Not the other way around.
Can you move from one to the other?
Absolutely.Your needs can change. Some people may begin with SHAPE because they want more coaching attention and eventually transition into SWEAT.Others may train primarily in SWEAT and later decide they want the additional structure and progress tracking of SHAPE.Fitness does not have to lock you into one format forever. The goal is progress. The coaching model should support that.
What about personal training?
Traditional one-on-one coaching still has a place. There are situations where someone truly needs a private environment or a higher degree of individual attention. But many people discover they do not need to train alone to receive great coaching. That is one of the reasons SHAPE exists. It fills the space between large-group training and traditional personal training.More attention. More feedback. Still connected to other people.

The Fitness Artist difference.
Whether you choose SWEAT or SHAPE, the standard does not change. We believe coaching should feel personal. You should know what you're doing and why.You should be challenged without being judged. You should be noticed. You should have people around you who care whether you keep showing up.
That is what Coached With Purpose means to us.
Ready to find your starting point?
You don't need to figure it out before you walk through the door.Tell us where you are.Tell us what you want to accomplish.Tell us what has made fitness difficult in the past. We'll help you decide what makes sense next.
